Physician Education

An outstanding Robotic Surgery Center not only treats patients but also trains surgeons in utilizing the new technology. Stamford Hospital's Center for Robotic Surgery provides ongoing professional education and training in use of the new state-of-the-art da Vinci Robotic Surgery Platform. Our goal is to educate practitioners and the community about the process.

At the Center, Stamford Hospital will provide training for surgeons from our hospital and others from throughout the region. Training programs will utilize a simulation device called The Mimic, which operates somewhat like a video game while allowing surgeons to be trained and gain familiarity with the system through simulated surgical procedures. Also, we will provide ongoing educational programs to inform area physicians of new applications, innovations and approaches to robotic surgery.
